End-to-End Testing Guide

Follow these steps to test the full employer onboarding journey, playing both the Admin and Employer roles.

Tip: You'll be switching between two roles. Use your name+test@mybento.net email for the employer invite, and keep two separate browser windows open — one for Admin, one for Employer (incognito works well).

Phase 1 — Create Employer

Admin Open the Admin Dashboard above (opens in a new tab). You'll see the employer list and available actions.

Admin Click New employer — enter a slug (this becomes the URL identifier), the prospect's contact name and email. Use your MyBento email: yourname+anything@mybento.net (e.g. dennis+testco@mybento.net) so you can receive the invite emails. An invite will be sent automatically.

Employer Open your email for the invite and follow the link. This will be your "employer" interface tab — keep it open alongside your admin tab throughout the test.
Phase 2 — Employer Details & Contracting

Employer Review the onboarding steps, then click Get started. Fill in company details, contacts, and other required information. Click Submit after each step and return to the hub.

Admin Switch back to the admin window. Click Reload at the top of the employer page to see the submitted data.

Admin Open Terms & Agreements. Fill in pricing (use auto-fill for standard pricing — logic is built in). Click Generate web quote, review the agreement, then close.

Admin Click Send to client for review to make the contract available on the employer's hub.

Employer Refresh the employer hub. Click Review contract and then Approved for signatures.

Admin Reload the admin page. Contract status should show "Client approved". Downloaded contracts signed offline or sent for signature can be uploaded here to automatically update the status to "signed" — or — click Send for signing via QuicklySign to sign via the app.

Employer Back on the employer hub, review the contract and sign or submit.
The signing widget is still being refined — use the purple "Skip signing" shortcut button to bypass this step for now.
Phase 3 — Payroll & Integration

Employer Refresh the hub. The payroll connection step is now available. Click Continue, fill in the payroll details, and click Submit credentials.

Admin Integration status shows "Submitted by client". Click this link for a dummy CSV you can use: test-employees.csv. Open Employee config, upload the CSV, then Save. Under Integration setup, change status to "Complete" with a date and Save.

Admin Optionally visit Product range to toggle which benefit products are available to this employer. By default all products are available.
Phase 4 — Benefits & Configuration

Employer Refresh the hub. Click Select benefit productsContinue. Choose products, set rules and strategies, then Confirm selection.

Employer Open Configure your teamContinue. Set up admin users, approvers, reimbursement rules, etc. Click Save configuration.

Employer Review Existing benefits & perks (should reflect details entered earlier). Click Continue.
Phase 5 — Provider Applications & FICA

Admin Reload the admin page. Open Provider applications & FICA. Based on the employer's product selection, edit the FICA tags here (manual for now) to build the required FICA checklist. Update statuses as needed and Save.

Employer Refresh the hub. Open Provider applications & FICAContinue. Upload required documents, then Submit FICA pack and continue.

Admin Update the provider applications & FICA status to "Applications complete" and Save.
Phase 6 — Payroll Setup & Go-Live

Employer Refresh the hub. Open Payroll integration setupContinue. Complete the steps and tick to confirm.
This section is still a work in progress — complete what you can.

Admin Reload. Under Payroll integration setup & test, change status to "Complete" and Save.

Admin Review and edit the go-live checklist & communications. Preview, queue, and edit comms as needed — these populate what the employer sees on their hub.

Employer Refresh the hub. Do final checks, review communications, and post any comments or suggestions. When ready, click I'm ready to go live.

Admin At the top of the employer page, click Set live. This updates all statuses and sets the hub state to live.
